Advanced School of Computer Graphics and AI for Cultural Heritage and Science

You are here

The school aims to teach how to transform complex data into visual data and introduce participants to the realisation of applications for the study and communication of cultural content and scientific data, astronomical data in particular, creating stories through images and videos and innovative applications. At the school in Palermo, the new synergies between computer graphics and artificial intelligence will be particularly emphasised.

The 5-day intensive course is aimed at students and graduates and introduces participants to 3D reconstruction, the use of AI tools, VR and AR, methodologies and technological tools dedicated to modelling, processing and integration of virtual reconstructions in real-time spatial systems or computer graphics (web, desktop, mobile). There will be plenty of Blender: modelling, shading, texturing, animation. But also web3D and how to apply artificial intelligence solutions to the world of science and cultural heritage.

Preliminary programme

3D modelling of cultural scenarios according to an open graphic process based on Blender;

Digital environments and cross-media approach with a focus on 3DWeb;

Design of digital ecosystems for the management and processing of cultural and/or scientific data also using AI systems, computer graphics animation, augmented reality apps and interactive and immersive virtual environments.
